I am a Brazilian photographer living in Iceland since 1998.
My photography has always focused on individualities—what people have to say, what their story is—and photography needs no words to express these.
I can say that as a foreigner, I feel that I am a part of the Icelandic society. I was raised in one culture as a child and adopted another as a young adult, both influencing who I am.
I have a daughter who is Icelandic and Brazilian. But I keep asking myself how people like her with two different backgrounds deal with the question,
"Where do you come from?"
This project is more than a statement. It is a door to open to another perspective about Icelandic society as it is today and as it is evolving.
